The Shroud told to children and teenagers
1) Welcome. In this video we will tell the children and teenagers about the Shroud
a) The narrative, although dry and essential, will still be fully respectful of the technical aspects that will be taken into consideration with regard to the Sacred Cloth.
Well. let's begin
2) The Shroud is currently located in the Cathedral of Turin
3) And it is kept in an ultra-technological case
4) The word «Shroud» comes from Greek and means «sheet».
The Shroud measures approximately 442cm x 113cm
5) On the Shroud there are serious traces of burns caused by a fire that occurred in 1532
a) there are also traces due to water absorption
b) then there are particular burns that have the shape of an "L"; these burns are caused by the dripping of incandescent material
c) Analyzing the male human figure imprinted on the Shroud, of which we have the frontal (left) and dorsal (right) imprint, we note
d) Nail wound on the back of the right foot
e) Nail wound on the left wrist
f) Spear wound to the side
g) Wounds due to a helmet of thorns on the head
h) Flail blows, both on the entire dorsal part, but also on the frontal part
i) Shoulder injuries caused by carrying the patibulum (i.e. the horizontal beam of the cross)
j) Blood flow in the lumbar area
k) Nail wound on the sole of the right foot
6) Currently the Shroud belongs to the Pope
7) In 1978 numerous scientific analyzes were carried out on the Shroud, from which it emerged that:
8 ) «… the image of the Shroud is that of a true human form of a flagellated and crucified man.
It is not the product of an artist"
9) The image on the Shroud has three-dimensional characteristics.
The analysis of the male human figure imprinted on the Shroud revealed that this Man of the Shroud was approximately between 30 and 40 years old and was approximately between 175 and 180 cm tall.
10) Scientific analyses, then, ascertained that this Man of the Shroud, when he was placed inside the Shroud, was a corpse; he was certainly dead.
And they also noted that the suffering that this Man of the Shroud underwent coincides exactly with that suffered by Jesus during his Passion and Death
11) The Man of the Shroud, in fact, is seriously flagellated, both on the dorsal and frontal parts.
The instrument used for flagellation was mainly a Roman flagrum
There are approximately 120 flagellation blows on the Man of the Shroud
12) The Man of the Shroud, then, appears to have been crowned with a helmet of thorns, which caused him approximately fifty wounds
13) On the shoulders of the Man of the Shroud there is the trace of the patibulum, i.e. the horizontal beam of the cross
a) The vertical pole that made up the cross (i.e. the stipes) was already planted in the place of execution
14) If there were more than one condemned to crucifixion, they were tied together, along the deductio (i.e. the road that led to the place of torture)
15) The Man of the Shroud was nailed to the patibulum not in the palm of his hand, but at the height of his wrists
16) The feet of the Man of the Shroud are also nailed
17) The Man of the Shroud also has a wound in his side, caused by a spear
a) The cause of the death of the Man of the Shroud was a broken heart
18) Now, however, let's pay attention
a) The scientific analyzes carried out on the Shroud revealed that the corpse that was in the Shroud remained inside the Shroud for only a few hours:
between 36 and 40 hours
b) And the blood on the Shroud is not smudged, a sign that no one tampered with, that is, moved or dragged away the corpse
c) How is this possible?
19) Well, having reached this point, let's try to enter Jesus' tomb in Jerusalem, and try to understand what could have happened inside on the morning of the Resurrection
20) Let's read what the Gospel according to John says, chapter 20, verses 6-7. I quote:
«Meanwhile Simon Peter also arrived, following him, and entered the tomb and observed the cloths placed there, and the shroud – which had been on his head – not placed there with the cloths, but wrapped in a separate place».
This is what we find translated into Italian
a) If, however, we read the original Greek text of this evangelical passage, here is what we would find written:
21) «Meanwhile Simon Peter also arrived, following him, and entered the tomb and observed the deflated cloths, and the shroud – which had been on his head – not deflated with the cloths, but even if the head was not there it was swollen in one place"
a) So Peter, and then the other disciple, precisely because they saw this strange absence, believed in THE PRESENCE of the Risen Jesus
22) Let's close, then, seeing in slow sequence, what could have been the moment of the Resurrection
a) ONE-Flash of the Resurrection
b) TWO -The Shroud deflates
THREE-The shroud remains swollen on the deflated Shroud
23) Now, let's review everything, but without interruptions
a) CLICK.
Finally, we see the moment of the Resurrection with an extremely realistic scene
24) … Best regards
